It started out as a solo acoustic act under the name of Josh Savage. Then, however, there was a time for change. Fellow University of York students Rob Stonehouse (bass/back-up vox), Ollie Brenig-Jones (drums) and new guitarist Harry Lister (lead guitar) joined Josh to form Taming The Savage!
They formed in May 2010, and then began playing gigs later in the year at various campus bars and house parties, and have already seen some success by being played several times on BBC Radio York via BBC Introducing.
So far, the band has released one EP named "Empty Room", which sold out instantly at their performance at Woodstock Festival. Taming The Savage have supported high profile acts such as Rizzle Kicks and Catfish & The Bottlemen. They reached the regional finals of Live & Unsigned in Newcastle, toured the UK in summer 2011 and have also been offered a publishing deal. Their next EP 'What Know The Pilots Of The Stars Of Tears' is expected to come out in the next few months!
